Respect for Witches today!

Between the 7th - 13th century, life became rocky for witches, stemming from fear.  By the 13th Century, some groups holding to other beliefs and rituals (notably Christianity, the dominant religion in medieval Europe) began to brand witchcraft as "demon-worship". Before that time they were looked to as valuable members of the community.  They were the weather makers, the healers, wisemen, and even cunning.  St. Thomas Aquinas in the 13th Century began the association between sex and witchcraft and the Inquisition pushed any remaining witches into deep hiding until the mid 18th Century.

With brutal attacks lasting as long as they did and the basic end occuring mid 18th Century, I give all witches major credit for coming back into the community and finding the strength to reclaim and announce their beliefs.

It is a wonder with all this anger and attack against us that we are still a peaceful people who for the most part just want to help and improve life for all.  This just shows the resiliance we have.  Thank you to all who have come before us, peaceful blessings to those who died in our name wether you were witch or not, and many blessings to all who are here and those yet to come.  May our people continue to grow, develop, and establish what our forefathers and mothers began.
Blessed Be!
