The Beach of Time Meditation
Taken from "Psychic Development for Beginners" by William W. Hewitt
This meditation is helpful in as much as it doesn't restrict you to "now" time. It encourages you to use past present and future.
Going to the Beach of Time
Sit in a comfortable, quiet place. Take the phone off the hook.
Close your eyes and go to your basic psychic level.
Say to yourself, "I will now go to the Beach of Time by counting down form 5 to 1 " Mentally count down: 5 - 4- 3 - 2 - 1/ At the count of one, visualize a white sand beach on the edge of a deep blue sea. The sea is calm and peaceful. The white beach stretches to your left and to your right.
You are standing in the present time on the Beach of Time on the shores of the infinitely huge Sea of Cosmic Consciousness .
Spend a few moments enjoying the beauty and warmth of this magnificent place. Feel the peacefulness.
Turn and look to the right. This is the direction of time past. A short distance from you, time past is concealed by a fog bank.
Now turn and look to the left. This is the direction of time future. A short distance from you, time future is concealed by a fog bank.
Mentally say to yourself, "I can return here to the Beach of Time any time I wish simply by closing my eyes, going to my basic psychic level, and counting from five down to one."
Now, as you count from one up to five, the Beach of Time disappears from your mental vision.
Open your eyes.
Going psychically into the Past.
Relax in a comfortable place.
Close your eyes.
Go to your basic psychic level.
Go to the
Turn to your right and walk into the fog bank.
Once in the fog bank, direct your mind to go where ever you wish in the past by saying something like, "I want to return to my third birthday".
The fog bank will evaporate and you will find yourself in the appropriate time in the past.
To leave the past and return to the
Walk to your left out of the fog and into the present time on the beach.
Count up 1-2-3-4-5 and the
Open your eyes.
Going Psychically into the Future.
Relax in a comfy place.
Close your eyes.
Go to your basic psychic level.
Go to the
Turn to your left and walk into the fog bank.
Once in the fog bank, direct your mind to go wherever you wish in the future, by saying something like. "I want to go to the North Pole on Jan 1, 2020."
The fog will evaporate and you will find yourself in the appropriate time in the future.
To leave the future and return to the
Walk to your right out of the fog and into the present time on the beach.
Count 1-2-3-4-5 and the
Open your eyes.
Relax in a quiet place.
Close your eyes.
Visualize a spiral staircase with ten steps curving down to the bottom floor.
Visualize yourself standing at the top of the staircase.
Take a step down to the ninth step and mentally say "deeper psychic level."
Then step down to the eighth step and mentally say "deeper psychic level."
Continue descending the steps as described.
When you reach the bottom step, mentally say "I am now at a strong psychic level that I can use for successful psychic performance. I can reach this level whenever I wish, with my eyes either closed or open, simply by desiring to be here and counting from three down to one."
Open your eyes.
Next, repeat the above exercise with your eyes open. It is recommended that you repeat this exercise at least once a week for a month.
Close your eyes.

Candle Exercise
Imagine the candle as an entrance way to the vast spiritual dimensions permeating everything; imagine it as the doorway to the inner universe. You might see this candle flame standing at the threshold between the physical and spiritual universes.As you fix your gaze upon it, feel that you are looking at the candle with your heart and that you are travelling through it with infinite peace.
Follow the flow of energy with your breath.
Breathe in the infinite peace of the spiritual universe. Feel your heart opening and expanding as that peace flows into your being like a golden light.
On your outward breath feel that your worries and anxieties which give birth to all your mental, emotional and physical tensions, are being gathered up and released.
You might imagine this is as a flow of light. You are breathing in a golden white light that is illumining your being with peace, and the darkness that is your tension in all it's flavors, you are letting go.
Try this for at least 5 minutes. If you want you can meditate in this manner alternatively on love; breathing out and releasing hate or anger or breathing in joy and breathing out depression and melancholy.
